Day 07 - A song that remind you of an event
Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire
If you’ve ever been to Arlington Stadium in recent years you will have noticed that when the opposing team reaches into their bullpen during an inning, this song comes on.
They put flames up on the screens and blast some Johnny Cash and everyone claps and sings along, and it is all normally a really good moment. Because there has to be something wrong if they are reaching into the bullpen in the middle of the inning; meaning you are winning. Or about to. Or on the verge of a serious comeback.
So every time I hear this song I am 2000 miles away back in Texas sweating my buns off cheering along as a new pitcher from some team I don’t like takes his warm-up pitches.
I guess you could say it’s on the soundtrack to my life.
Because those games, those days with my family, are some of the best memories of my life.
