My apartment smells of rich mahogany… I’m beginning to understand the root of the problem behind the saying “starving artist.” It is not an unknown fact that I own quite an elaborate library for a 20 year old. But as of late I have been devouring design books like tic tacs. Every time I get some money I turn around and buy another book. Granted this one is on the recommended textbook list for my typeface design class. So thank you Christmas 2011, for the wonderful new additions to my mantel this winter. I will cherish them forever. On a side note I also bought Little Book of Letterpress and Dracula designed by my design crush Jessica Hische. She is an incredibly prolific letterer and an amazing designer. My dream is to be half as cool as her. Barns and Noble has a whole series of classics designed by her, which is basically all I’ve ever wanted to do my whole life. Combining design and books. Dreams do come true.
